Early in June 2021, the Prime Minister of India announced the launch of the Yuva scheme. Yuva stands for Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors. The Twitter post of the Prime Minister read, ‘Here is an interesting opportunity for youngsters to harness their writing skills and also contribute to India’s intellectual discourse.’ In addition to this, the post mentioned a website link regarding PM Yuva Mentoring Scheme. With the help of this scheme, the government wishes to provide training to 75 writers who are below the age of 30 years.
For this, the government has kept a slot for aspiring writers to provide their writings to the website. The dates of submission are from 4th June to 31st July 2021. Then, the authorities will check these submissions and select 75 writers. After this, the candidates will undergo training from the government’s end. Furthermore, PM Yuva Mentoring Scheme provides scholarships to the selected writers.
PM YUVA Mentoring Scheme Registration 2021
The responsible authority for the YUVA scheme is the National Book Trust (NBT). The Trust is ready to provide guidance to 75 young writers who project India and its culture & literature globally. Under the scheme, the selected writers will receive an Rs. 50,000 scholarship each month for six months. However, this will be distributed as six months per author. With the help of this scheme, the government aims at making reading and authorship a preferred profession for youngsters. PM Yuva Yojana For Young Writers Goals and Implementation 2021
All the budding writers of India, who are willing to submit their writings on the website, must know more about the scheme. To talk about the PM Yuva Yojana 2021, the major goal of the scheme is to ensure preparing authors below the age of 30 years to express themselves. Yuva Mentoring Scheme Selection Procedure
- The All India Contest at MyGov will select 75 authors.
- The responsible authority is a Committee by the National Book Trust.
- Submission dates are 4th June 2021 to 31st July 2021.
- For participation, the contestants have to submit their entries of around 5000 words for the Mentorship Scheme.
- The government will announce the names of selected candidates on 15th August 2021.
- Under the guidance of some nominated mentors, the authors have to work on manuscripts for a final selection.
- Now, after all this process, the government will ready with the publication manuscript by 15th December 2021.
- Lastly, the government will launch the book on 12th January 2022 on the occasion of National Youth Day.
Yuva Scheme Training Phases
Last, but not least, we would like to present the training phases of the scheme. The government has divided the training into two phases for the selected authors. Both these training will last for 3 months each.
Talking about Phase I, the National Book Trust will organize an online program for two weeks. In this period, the selected authors get guidance under two eminent mentors/ authors. These eminent coaches will be from the accomplished authors/ writers of NBT. Also, after this two-week program, the government will guide the selected candidates for two weeks at various national camps.
Secondly, Phase II is about Promotion. With the help of the government, the authors will be able to hone their skills. Since the young authors will be given exposure to book fairs, literary festivals, virtual book fairs, exchange programs, etc., they can expand their understanding. When the mentorship program ends, every author will have been provided Rs. 3 Lakh in total (Rs. 50,000 each month). Apart from this, under the program, many books will be published by NBT. Then, the authors will receive a 10% royalty on the books at the end of the program. Lastly, the authorities will translate the books into many Indian languages to promote the culture and literature of various states.
